Shopping Mall Entrance Design for The Lane, Botany Town Centre

THE SHOPPING MALL ENTRANCE DESIGN FOR ‘THE LANE’ AT THE BOTANY TOWN CENTRE WAS DELIVERED TO DUFFY AS A FAIRLY OPEN BRIEF!

This blank canvas saw Duffy having to get inside the heads of the target market. Working out what was ‘cool’ in their worlds of skate, ski and social media to work out the ‘identity’ of this area of shops home to the best in street fashion, sportswear and young adult fashion in the shopping precinct.

The mall management really wanted to give this area ‘an entrance’ by graphically treating the mall entrance design’s glass glazing, automatic sliding doors and surrounding pillars, and for Duffy’s design to make some noise without totally obscuring the view into through The Lanes North and South glass entrances.

Inside the entrance way there were distressed doors adorning the walls on the south side and brick adoring the walls of the north side home to Subway that needed to be taken into consideration.

The final design fused Duffy’s discovered identity for The Lane into an outline design of hand drawn outlined leaves and hanging frames housing Instagram selfies and images with Insta colour effects applied, some of which scattered the pavement below connecting the two together surfaces together.

The entrance non-slip carpet was also given some life with a handdrawn tassel edge which added some jazz and connection to the glass entrance graphic design.
