Aromatherapy branding – A range of room spray bottle label designs
WITH AN EYE FOR WITTY AND WHIMSICAL A NEW AROMATHERAPY BRAND OF ROOMS SPRAYS NEEDED A SLIGHTLY TONGUE IN CHEEK YET SOPHISTICATED BOTTLE LABEL DESIGN.
With names like Magic Mist, Untamed Optimist, Love in a Mist and Deep Dreamist, it’s hard not to have your imagination piqued. With some clever naming ideas behind her indulgent aromatherapy labels, Emily new she needed a design that would complement her philosophy and appeal to her British audience. As a kiwi expat in Britain Emily keenly felt their sense of humour and how it gelled with hers. With blends to help children get rid of the monster under their bed, or just provide a bit of magic going to sleep the bottle label design became one of blending minimalism with whimsy.
An angel blowing a horn with magic dust filtering over the room for ‘Magic Mist’ is an image that particularly resonated with Emily. The idea of protecting children as they settle into rest is one that is felt by many parents. Old fashioned chivalrous romance for the bottle label design ‘Love in a Mist’ seemed perfect to illustrate the innocence we experience as we fall in love. ‘Deep Dreamist’ is designed to be relaxing and applied to the bedsheets and PJ’s has a beautiful calming image of the man in the moon and a purple star. So simple, yet communicates clearly the intended feeling of the product.
These beautiful hand-drawn illustrations take us to an older time, where life was less complicated, where we were all just a bit more relaxed. Combined with an elegantly simple font the look is timeless with a modern edge.
Emily enjoyed the process of bringing her aromatherapy brand to life, she says to Belinda of Duffy Design, “I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for everything you have done… I have such a great feeling behind my idea and now that it’s physical identity is evolving I feel such a wonderful sense of Untamed Optimism… How apt.
