MANUKAU SUPA CENTRE FOOD PAVILION
Manukau Supa Centre’s food court branding – A melting pot of food and culture
WHEN THE SUPA CENTRE DECIDED TO UPDATE ITS FOOD COURT AREA AND FACILITIES THEY ASKED DUFFY TO DEVELOP THE DESIGN OF THE FOOD COURT BRANDING AND GRAPHICS THAT REFLECTED THE MELTING POT OF FLAVOURS IN THE FOOD PAVILION.
The food court logo design based around a ‘melting pot’, reflecting the mix of cultures for which Manukau is renowned and the mix of foods available in The Food Pavilion.
Using an existing koru form in the concrete pathways, Duffy created a 7m high custom wallpaper based on this koru design and fused it with typography relating to Manukau and New Zealand. This design was also transferred into the wayfinding and signage for the adjoining bathroom amenities.
A billboard was also designed to announce the opening of the pavilion. The ‘Flava of Manukau’ panel designed to be removed after the competition had finished.
